Pre owned Recreation Vehicles are a lot like houses. They have a lot of complicated systems such as appliances, plumbing, LP Gas systems, both 12 volt and 110 volt electricity, and on top of that, sometimes things break. And then throw in the fact that Motor homes also are on a moving chassis. It can be expected that some items may not work from time to time. These RV’s, while exceptional buys, do not have a warranty or guarantee on them. So, what steps do we take to assure you the RV you buy from us will be in good working order?
First of all, most of our RV’s are from bank repossessions. That means we travel out to see them, sometimes over a thousand miles or more. When a purchase is made, we have to transport the RV back to our lot in Indiana. That gives us plenty of time to see if there are mechanical issues on the drive train that need to be addressed. By specializing in late model RV’s, we generally do not run into many problems in this area. If there is an issue, we will either repair it before offering it up for sale, or we will notify a potential buyer ahead of time if it is being offered for sale with a mechanical issue. We do not have a mechanic check the engine, transmission, etc, or do things like compression checks. We can or might miss something occasionally, but we try to be as thorough as possible. If you travel in to buy a motor home that you have only seen online and there is a mechanical issue, we will either take care of it on the spot, or offer you the option to walk away with a full refund of your deposit.
The house portion can be more complicated in some models than others. While we can not make these RV’s “New”, we do check and repair anything related to:
- All Major appliances. That includes the roof air conditioner(s), furnace, water heater, cook top, oven, microwave and refrigerator, (not including ice makers).
- Slide out rooms and leveling jack systems
- LP gas systems
- Major 110 volt and 12 volt electrical systems including the batteries
- Plumbing/water systems
Anything that is not listed here does not apply. We do go through the RV with you when you pick it up to show you that the items listed above are working and also to make sure you know how to use them properly. Any other equipment or systems you would like for us to check out can generally be arranged.
We are also proud to offer US Plus extended warranties on the units that qualify. The warranty is valid anywhere in the US and Canada. We can offer warranties on units up to 11 years of age. The oldest model year we can currently offer an extended warranty on is 2002. Prices vary on the age of the RV, miles, and value, so each warranty has to be priced individually.
